An ultra-soft and lightweight wool poncho is one of my must-pack travel essentials, regardless of where I travel.
This poncho by animaná is thick enough for warmth, yet thin enough to fold and effortlessly carry in my hand luggage. Exquisite, elegant and versatile, animaná has updated the poncho to a cosmopolitan version of this traditional garment. The Fadriana poncho doubles as a sweater, making it just as likely to wear off the plane as on it.
Striking the perfect balance between being fine in texture and incredibly warm, the poncho makes a huge difference when travelling. Useful, chic and warm, it is sure to keep the traveller looking stylish and feeling comfortable.
animaná works with producers of natural fibers and artisans from Patagonia and the Andes, where weavers are amongst the best in the world.
The natural fibres originate from the sustainable breeding of South American camelids – llamas and alpacas are camelid breeds – that roam free in large pastures in their natural habitat. Then, using manual processes, shearers do their job and select only the best fibres. A variety of colours are chosen, from white and light beige to intense blacks.
Artisans spin the fibres by hand and dye them with pigments obtained from native plants, reviving the techniques handed down through the years. As a result, the products respect the unique quality of each fibre, their softness, delicacy and comfort.
Eco-chic at its best, the natural fibres are an excellent renewable resource, being 100% biodegradable and carbon-neutral.
The Fadriana poncho is hand-finished in 100% baby alpaca. Baby alpaca is the fleece shared from the first clip of the shearling alpaca. Baby alpaca is one of the most luxurious fibers in the world due to its silky softness and velvet touch. Garments made of this fiber are rich in the diversity of their colours, comfortable and versatile to wear. They are much lighter, warmer and stronger than wool.
Luxurious yet practical, this gorgeous poncho is a timeless investment piece and perfect travel companion
