We love well-designed, useful and beautiful everyday objects, so we were obviously very excited to discover this stylish bowl from Smaller Objects.
Smaller Objects was established by internationally acclaimed architects Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune in 2015. Their thoughtfully considered collection includes a select number of objects from acclaimed international designers.
We are very pleased to see that a bowl originally created by famed Swedish designer Ingegerd Råman for the now-closed Japanese restaurant One Happy Cloud in 1997 has been revived for the collection.
Says Ingegerd Råman: ”When the boys asked, I was delighted. At the time I was handcrafting myself much of my pottery. I hand-threw all the bowls for the restaurant. The inside of the rim has an in-fold to serve as a support to help grip food like noodles with your chopsticks. I have always believed that function and beauty should weigh equal.”
Representing the perfect synthesis of aesthetics and functionality, the beautifully crafted bowl is designed to bring joy to the everyday ritual of eating. Defined by simplicity and purity of form, it possesses an organic quality that creates a sense of beauty and timelessness.
The One Happy Cloud soup bowl for Smaller Objects is moulded in matt anthracite glazed stoneware by historic Swedish manufacturer Gustavsberg.
Enhance the beauty of that table setting with this gorgeous bowl designed with a casual style that makes it ideal for everyday use or informal events.
